This is the story of how I died.

이 이야기는 제가 어떻게 죽게 되었는지에 대한 이야기입니다.

But don't worry, this is actually a very fun story.

걱정하지 마세요, 아주 재미있는 이야기니까요.

And the truth is, it isn't even mine.

그리고 사실은 제 이야기도 아니에요.

This is the story of a girl named Rapunzel.

'라푼젤' 이라는 소녀의 이야기랍니다.

And it starts, with the sun.

이야기는 태양과 함께 시작되죠.

Now, once upon a time,

옛날 옛적에

a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens.

한줄기의 빛이 하늘에서 내려왔습니다.

And from this small drop of sun,

태양에서 떨어진 이 한줄기의 빛은

grew a magic, golden, flower.

자라서 '마법의 금빛 꽃'이 되었습니다.

It had the ability to heal the sick, and injured.

이 꽃은 병들고 다친 사람들을 치유하는 능력을 가지고 있었어요.

Oh, you see that old woman, over there?

오! 저기 할머니 보이시죠?

You might want to remember her.

이 할머니를 기억해 두시는 게 좋을 거예요.

She's kind of important.

그녀는 중요한 사람이라 할 수 있거든요.

Well, centuries pass and a hop, skip and

몇 백 년이 지나고 또 건너뛰어

a boat ride away, there grew a kingdom.

배를 타고 갈수 있는 곳에 한 왕국이 생겨났습니다.

The kingdom was ruled by a beloved King and Queen.

그 왕국은 국민들에게 총애 받는 왕과 여왕님이 다스리고 있었죠.

And the Queen, well she was about to have a baby,

그런데 여왕님은 아기가 태어나기 바로 전 병에 걸리게 되었어요.

and she got sick, really, sick.

아주 위독한 병에...

She was running out of time.

여왕님에게 남은 시간은 얼마 없었습니다.

And that's when people usually start to look for a miracle.

사람들은 보통 이럴 때 기적을 찾기 시작하죠.

Or in this case, a magic golden flower.

이런 경우엔 '마법의 금빛 꽃'을요

Ahhh, I told you she'd be important.

아아, 제가 이 할머니가 중요하다고 말했었죠.

You see instead of sharing the suns gift,

여러분은 태양의 선물 대신

this woman, Mother Gothel, hoarded it's healing power

치유의 힘을 가진 '가텔'이란 여자를 보게 될 거에요.

and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years.

그녀는 그 힘을 몇백년 동안 자신의 젊음을 유지하는 데 썼습니다.

And all she had to do, was sing a special song.

특별한 노래를 하는 게 그녀가 해야 하는 일의 전부였죠.

*Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine*

꽃아 반짝반짝 빛나라, 너의 힘이 빛을 발하게 해.

*Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine*

시계를 거꾸로 돌려, 내 것이었던 것을 되돌려줘

한때 내 것이었던 것을

All right, you get the jist. She sings to it, she turns young,

고작 노래 좀 한다고 젊어진다니...
